Good first day at start of year 2 sem 1 today, despite the muscle aches I got from yesterday's cleaning up of room. Seems like my body lacks exercise.
Reach school today earlier than I had expected. But could have been earlier because the bus 174 I took today was very slow. I had a shock on my way to LWN library because there was a long queue, mostly the common engineering students queuing up for their notes. Luckily, I got my stuff printed out within 20 minutes, which was quite fast considering the crowd and the fact that it was first day in school.
There was no psychology lecture today due to orientation. I was quite looking forward to it to see how it is like. Then we slack around and I learnt to play the full monopoly deal. The first lecture of the every year I see Dr Andrew Kricker in LT 27, teaching different subjects. The subsequent lecture were okay okay only.
Add drop starts at 4pm but my heart was racing at about 3.40pm. Very kua zhang hor? I don't know why, because I had the strong eager-ness to get my modules because I don't want to keep delaying to clear my modules. Especially Physics, I need to clear it next semester. Add Drop starts, luckily I got my laptop using NTU wireless. The internet connection seems better than my mio. However, the computer at spms was laggy. I couldn't get entrepreneurship because I was not allowed to take, perhaps only reserved for year 4s and 3s. Then I faster proceed on to drop HS814 to get HP102, thankfully I did that in time. Since I couldn't get entre so I faster go add Malay at the same time talking to a friend. Speed was rather slow but still, I got it! After that to make my timetable look nicer, I change my HP102 index. That's all, no more stargazing for this 2 weeks. Well, maybe gaze once or twice at the MAS213 core to change labs to friday, so I can have more free Wednesday mornings to exercise with mummy.
Dinner with uni clique. A simple but wonderful one after saying to meet up for like the whole of summer holidays but we didn't. Won monopoly deal for one round!

Reflections on this summer holidays
I just ended all my chores today but it seems uncompleted to me. Somehow, I feel a great sense of satisfaction that I managed to clean up and clear up all whatever rubbish I have in my room. Feel like throwing everything useless away but I cannot. Starting work around 3 plus, went for a dinner break with my aunt and then come back again to work. All the way til just now. I didn't even sit in front of the TV watching the national day rally today. As a result, I turn up the volume near the max on my tv to listen to it. And now, heave a sigh of relief that I completed everything now, cleaning room, taking down clothes, folding clothes, sweep the floor, boil water ... Wow, it seems like a challenge in the future as a housewife. I plan to sleep early tonight but I guess with all my work undone and the kind of excitement will not make me fall asleep as soon as possible.
As I have promised myself, I will do a reflection on this summer holidays as it ends officially today.
This holidays are very long I guess compared to the normal summer holidays uni students enjoy. Went back to Malaysia straight after my paper for a short break. That's the only time I get out of Singapore the whole of this holidays. Kind of regretted not taking special semester to study more and clear more AUs due to the financial burden. Actually, it is affordable but hai... This regret leads me on to the eager to find a job since I have not tried out any outside jobs before and it may be the last time I am doing those jobs. Try Try Try but no one wants to hire me since I am only available for a short period. Then I started to have the thought of giving up to concentrate on doing other things like RSPHI or buck up on my maths. I have not been working hard the whole of sem 2 and things are getting harder. Started to get busy in May with iHEARyou that I have been skipping dinners at home to eat outside, which caused me to fall terribly sick with diarrhoea and vomitting. Then I realised how important health is to me before I can accomplished other things. And how rest is super important to me. Then comes the event which I think it was a success, the greatest contribution I think I made was to contact Siemens and they sponsored us with the keychains.
As I have the thought of giving up to find a job, two jobs came and I took up the first one which is a 2 day ad hoc job as a facilitator at some kids event. I worked for one day and the next subsequent days I fell sick. At the same time I took a student for tuition at JC2 level, which motivates me to teach and realises my strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, I worked extra hard but up til now, I still think there is room for improvement on my part to get things done and see results. There is not much time left and I just realised that prelims are coming. Still, concepts are unsure and basic facts are still incorrect.
I started going for work in June til July after iHEARyou, just after I fully recovered from my terrible illness. The job offer came just right so I accepted it. Soon after I got many calls from companies but I rejected them. Blur blur me made quite a number of mistakes but as I go on I learn alot from the job despite it being just a sykang job to anybody. I enjoyed the job and the great company I have from my lunch clique. I miss them especially HS and Bruce after I left the place to devote more time to rsphi and myself. A fulfilling one month. Somehow something spurs me on to think about my life, the meaningful things I want to accomplish. So, I decided to join the events in rsphi.
After I left, I had quite a hectic schedule to follow in preparing two song sign performances, for igc and project id. All my Saturdays are burnt with morning tuitions, afternoon rsp and night time song sign practice. Then again, before I get to enjoy the essence of it especially the mediacorp event. I fell sick again, the second time. This time is flu, fever, cough, sorethroat. Then I realised that, seriously, rest is important to me despite the aim to occupy myself and my mind with events. Hectic schedule is not for me.
Lesson learnt: not to pack your schedule til 没天每夜.
I don't know what happen. I thought after I left work, I will have more time for myself but that doesn't seem to be the case. Straight til this point of time, I don't even have a day for myself to nuah at home. I'm just busy with getting sick and recovering for the whole of my holidays.
The greatest accomplishment for this holidays would be the joy of getting the TA with my own effort. From the point I got the phone call, to interview, til the day I received the offer, then to the medical check up, signing of deed, moe induction and then the day when I walk up to receive the certificate with the sickly myself. Despite being the lowest in rank of the awards, I am still happy with what I have done for myself and my parents. Though on the day when I receive the offer, I have second thoughts on this career after scary experiences in my sec school. Everything seems so coincidental. But whatever it is, I will definitely do a good job and I believe I can do it. Somehow, I wasn't much happier when I see Mrs Tay appearing behind me on TSPC as compared to the day of receiving the offer. It was Mrs Tay who gave me the courage to pursue on this career. I may be afraid at times, but I will try.
Then it comes the last event of the holidays which is the YOG volunteering. Though the job is mundane, but I still like the accompany I have for each day of duty. I admire the athletes for their effort and the glory they bring to the country. Feeling envious in me that I didn't do anything big or great that satisfies me (well, maybe TA?). I am not a sports inclined person. I always wish to do proud of the nation, singing the national anthem with pride. However, that doesn't happen to me. Alot of sacrifices will be done. I started to think for myself. Up to now, it seems like I have never pursue anything all the way til the end. Maybe Maths, but that's different. From Art, music, dance, singing, sports, volunteering, it's all a alittle effort here and there which don't give you much in life. Looking on the bright side, I have tried those things before, well maybe not sports but something related to sports. I always think if I were to accomplish something I will definitely be good at it. Somehow this thought always ring in my mind so I choose to give up everything because I don't think I will be good at it. That's very cruel of me to think that way. I will still continue to do meaningful things as much as possible because it seems like I have wasted my youth away and not much time is left for me. Especially when health is concerned. However, one good point is that, my values and morals are brought up right despite the kind of environment I was in the last time. I hold on to my principles strongly of being a good student. Which makes me who I am today, not I am still not very good. But I am glad... that I am mature enough? Am I? Or still childish...
Back to the topic, I am really impressed by what this small nation can do. YOG, though there are negative comments, but I enjoy the feeling alot. There is one and only experience for us. At least, I got to contribute in YOG despite missing a chance to see the olympic flame and cheering for the torch bearer.
Still I didn't get to finish what I want during this summer holidays. Especially catching up with my studies. You may think that I am a mugger but I am slow in things so I would need to spend more time on it to achieve good grades. I will work hard and I am super looking forward to a new year in NTU. If I don't go to a place called 'school', I will go bonkers. HAHA! Take for example of falling sick in two times within 4 months. This is proven true for the past 6 years that when holidays come, I fall sick.
Gearing up for the next 4 months. Jia You! Good luck and all the best for tomorrow! ;)

Having miss RSPHI for the past two weeks
Back to RSPHI today again. Seriously, I am starting to worry for me as a teacher. I can't seem to get what I want after each lesson. It seems like I am not setting enough lesson plans and stuff. Today, I let her do her work all the way while I sat there and read the YOG news, talking nonsense to whoever is around me. Today's tuition really seem like a tuition because everyone is focus on their work. Endless chats I had yesterday. I haven't even get to finish chatting about stuff and we left.
Accidentally in love is a nice song. The first challenging song I learnt to sign. Oh no! I need to learn it on buses again. I think it is very difficult to depend on the lyrics, I shall take it as dance steps and remember actions.
Looking forward to sem starts especially Welcome Tea.

Singapore Flyer!
A fun and enjoyable day for me at the Singapore Flyer with my cousins and their friends!
I went out today with a stormy weather but it was a complete sunny day at city. Met them at Marina Square with a whole group of guys with me as the only little girl. Proceed onto SG flyer with me as the lousy tour guide leading them a weird way there, through an ulu staircase down to a carpark or something. The SG flyer is quite inconvenient place to go to. Initially I can't bluff 5 student tickets at one go (So Karen was right!). It's one ticket for one student card (Why I forget to take one more yesterday ) But we thought of a way to buy it. Buy at different times at different counter using my different matric card by a different person. If not each ticket will cost $20 more which is so not worth it. I think the ride just worth $10 dollars. Not more, lesser it can go. But I caught a magnificent bird's eye view of Singapore. Never thought that just within 45 years of independence we can grow into such a busy and high tech place with skyscrapers at city, beautiful sight! Compared to big cities like London, New York or Shanghai, we won't lose out either! I am so excited to see how is Singapore like in 10 years time. I'm just afraid that we will sink because we are building so much underground mrt line.
Next stop, Esplanade or durian head we call that. I was so hungry, didn't have lunch because I had my breakfast earlier on. So we walked around and I ate something at the kopi house @ esplanade. One cousin of mine just love to take photos like a tourist. Then we walk to the Merlion Park along the highway across Esplanade. Got a very nice view too, reminds me of the days in Shanghai two years back. I think it's my first time really there to take photos, not sure if I had passed by before or something. Keep getting splashed by the Merlion's 'saliva', a sunny and windy day. Perfect weather. I'm like a tourist... from Singapore!
Wanted to bring them to Clarke Quay for a walk or some Museums to see see look look. But we headed on to Ion Orchard when he wants to see the building, when we keep saying there's nothing much there. Next stop: Ion Orchard and Orchard road. Walk along there for awhile and we went in to the Olympic superstore to have a look. Well, I have been passing by there for the whole of YOG period but I didn't get to step in the shops, finally I have the chance to see! Err, well the things are exactly the same as what I saw in ICC. But ya, fulfilled my wish la haha though I didn't get anything but I forgot to bring my accreditation card to enjoy some discounts for them. ARGH!
Walking the whole day under the sun. Fell asleep on the way back to my cousin's house on 190. I was very hungry and ate 2 portions of rice. Even finish my aunt's portion so she had to cook another serving of meehoon for herself. Nice dinner! But before dinner, I went on to edventure and take a look. Almost all core course materials are up including the elective that I wanted to drop. The first 2 electures are already up there for my self study liao. Feeling very unprepared.
To-do lists:
- Top up cash card
- Finish my JC tuition stuff.
- I hope I can get an iTouch asap when school starts. So I can use that to study and entertain myself.
- Play Diner Dash, reminds me of the times I was hooked on the game years before when I last played it on Yiqian's iTouch
- Clear my room and clean my table so I will have a nice table to study on
- Clear my notes.. whatever notes I have
- Plan my one week attire (Sounds lame but ya, I do that most of the time)
- Blog about my whole summer holidays, my new academic year resolutions
- Start to revise on my cores and prepare all my exercise books to start the new year
Do you think I can finish it within these weekend? (If I pon RSPHI again, :P)

YOG!
I am in Lee Wee Nam blogging now as I cannot enter the YOV! My accreditation card don't have access to YOV. And I thought it's open to all workforce! The SMS bluff people... all I can see at YOV was the complicated security check in. And many YOV buses all in purple colour.
It's the official last day yesterday for CEP guides and other workforce at the ICC. Both happy and sad. Sad because there will not be such events again, with interesting people from other countries, meeting new people, snatching pins and taking photos with mascots, olympic gallery. Happy because we can finally take a rest before school starts. No more fun and laughter with friends anymore. Oh maybe got, on the 16th Sep at Universal Studios. Looking forward to that, but still, there are still CEP guides whom I have never ever met before in my duty. So I guess it will be a little strange. Never mind we try to make new friends.
I guess it ended off quite well. Initially I don't feel like doing duty when our job is to just stand around and answering questions. And also the fact that the organisation was abit poor before the event. After the moment they started especially the Opening Ceremony, I'm glad that everything goes very well! As time goes by we chit chat with each other and eat dinner (oh I don't know why I love the dinner so much!) and slack around here and there. Sometimes playing the step up machine with the tune still ringing in our heads. Travelling up and down for duty with totally free transport. I guess I will never have a chance experiencing free transport ever and ever again.
Guess everyone out there enjoys YOG! Who don't enjoy?
I still have many to-do lists still unfulfilled. I want to finish it before sem starts!

It's finally the last day of YOG tmr!
Mixed feelings I had of YOG. Good thing about is that I don't have to travel all the way to ICC for duty be it the am or pm shift, standing there doing nothing most of the time. The bad thing is that YOG is ending soon and there will be no such any experiences we can enjoy in our life. Even if there is, it will not be as meaningful or memorable since now is the INAUGURAL Youth Olympic Games. Well, my experience I had isn't that fulfilling that I expected it to be. But better than nothing. At least I got to 凑热闹 sometimes.
Went for my first sports initiation today. Kind of stupid to have just 3 tries of handball which is quite an interesting game. But sadly I have only tried playing once during my JC times. I hit the cross board on my last attempt. Not bad! I confirmed that I have seriously no sports cells in my body either, even if have, it will be just slow sports because I do everything very slowly. Climb some flight of stairs too. PM shift has not much people walking around. OH, and the dance group from Cambodia is fantastic, but their performance was abit too long.
Dinner was very very very nice today! I took Yi Qian's brocoli and mutton to eat which explains how nice the food was ( at least nice to me ) and how hungry I am. Slack all the way and talking to the fellow CEP guides. Eh, looking forward to the appreciation night at universal studios and wonder how would it be like. Hmmm, decided to take 77 back to take a look at the Bt Timah houses as the bus took a big big tour around the area. Tomorrow I am going to reach there early!

Sometimes I don't know what I really want in life. I can't achieve what my mother hopes I can achieve since young. I don't have any talent or special skills that make me outstanding.
Just when can I really be proud of my achievements? When can I tap myself on my shoulder and said, "you have done well!"
