C'est La Vie

Exams are finally over! After a week of shag-ness, paper after paper every morning.

Humans are always in a dilemma right? When you are tired, you badly want a rest. But when everything's over, you want to get busy again. Just like now, exams are over. There's not much stuff I can look forward to. But counting and counting, there are quite a lot of stuff for me to do which I don't really feel like doing. For example, thinking my thought over. One thing good about exams is, it keeps your mind free of anything else but the content of exams. However, silly people like me will get distracted for no good reason. Now since exams are over, I don't feel any sense of distractions at all from my weird thinking. I'm weird. Haha... never mind.

Leaving for Malaysia tomorrow. I'm thinking about what to do there. I hope there's something for me to do. I've checked the Malaysia's TV guide. Well, at least there are some Singapore shows to watch. But no 小娘惹. Crazy over 小娘惹 now because it's a very successful Singapore show. I always watch TV during exam period to motivate myself, but I don't watch it during semester. How opposite! And I have yet to pack my stuff!

Exam passes really fast for this time. 6 days and it's gone. Or precisely, 8 days inclusive of weekends. For last sem, there are still breaks in between to get really prepared for a paper. Esp MAS 111, quite a long time to prepare, but during the long time, motivation can die off very fast. That was the time I wanted a rest fast.

All my 3 cores are not well done. There is always a trap at one or two questions. Maybe the most confident paper is French? Maybe because I haven't been putting in much effort this semester. My fighting spirit is zero.

Long holidays await. 4 months? Let's see, I have HI event, YOG stuff which is going to take up August. I am going to work, but not sure where. Finding some tuitions to get myself occupied.

This sem is super difficult for me. I supposed. For others as well because the content are so much tougher than before. Esp Accounting and Linear Algebra. If year 1 sem 2 is already like that. How am I going to survive the rest of my uni life? How am I going to cope with the upcoming stress? Maybe this time I'm distracted by my own emotions. I will take a good rest, to sort out my thinking and all that kind of stuff. Well, I guess I shouldn't complain much. I think it's difficult, others may think it's more difficult. Who am I to complain?

C'est la vie. That's life. If you are on top, you are afraid of falling. If you are not on top, you want to climb up badly. In both ways, in whatever circumstances, there will be sacrifices made. Is to see whether do you want to make sacrifices to achieve those things and aims you want.

Ne laisse pas le temps, le décevoir.
Je ne peut être conquis
Dans la tristesse,
Dans la douleur.
Aujourd’hui, demain...
Au fil du temps... Le temps...
C’est La Vie...

也许我会再遇见你
像恋人般重逢美丽
看你满脸胡渣的笑意 爽朗一如往昔
Cest La Vie Cest La Vie Cest La Vie

Sometimes I always think, if you put in your very best. The best will come back to you. However, there is contradiction and counterexample. Okay, I sounded so Math now. There are certain things in life that does don't work this meritocracy way.

走一个城市的陌生 走到了
曙光无知无觉的黎明
一路微笑的满天繁星 消失在日出里
Cest La Vie Cest La Vie Cest La Vie

Can somebody teach me to smile from the bottom of my heart?
Move on. Life will be better. But how can I bear to give up?

oh~~塞纳河的水 是心的眼泪
流过了 你笑的 每个样子
我会在你的记忆 看到我自己
看到了结局
爱在错过后 更珍惜

Tears. Sorrow. Down the drain. Swollen eyes. Brain and headache. Accompanies me every night.
They are my bad friends. Of having the second regret in my life. All because I'm too naive and stubborn. The world doesn't revolve around me. Similarly, the world doesn't stop revolving due to my non-existence. 风照样在吹,雨照样在飘。。。

都将走向新的旅途 Au rev oir
说好不为彼此停留
看车窗外的你 沉默不语
我不再哭泣
Cest La Vie Cest La Vie Cest La Vie

I didn't kept the promise. Pardon. I really hope this day would come. My eyes need a good rest. However, those times would never be erased from my heart. Look on the brighter side.

oh~~塞纳河的水 是心的眼泪
流过了 漂泊的 人生风景
愿我们各自都有 美好的一生
美好的憧憬
爱在遗憾里 更清晰

Whatever has been decided had been decided. I wished time could turn back. This is impossible right? No matter how hard I try, time would never allow to go back to the wonderful times.
As a conclusion, hardwork can never defeat fate and destiny. No matter what is the conclusion. I would still give a try. Because I know, I tried my best. To face the reality.

也许我会再遇见你
像恋人般重逢美丽

Who knows? I may be happier in time to come. Who knows? I will still meet you again. Who knows? We will know each other again right from the scratch. Who knows? 老天自有安排。。。
However, right now. I don't want to believe in anything. I only believe in my wishful thinking and my naive-ness and stubborn-ness.

Cest La Vie Cest La Vie
Cest La Vie

That's life... Not within our own means.

Losing the fighting spirit after a tough war with Calculus. NO! My body my mind. Please 振作起来!
2 more to go and I'll look forward to nothing seriously... Perhaps a big good rest away from the busy world.
没有任何东西比失去亲人和朋友来得更孤独。。。 难道爱情也是一样的吗?

115 circles to shade

Haha. I was wrong yesterday because I calculated 109 circles to shade for Defence Science paper for the 100 Mcq questions and the 9 matriculation characters. But there are still 6 more to shade, M P S 8 1 1. Well anyway, the main thing is, this is the first time I had 100 Mcq questions for a paper, pass fail somemore. Should be manageable and ok right? But the questions are like, you don’t have to go lectures to know, you don’t have to pon lectures because you know. Because it’s just alien. Well nvm, I thought this would be the most relaxing paper of my life, indeed it was. Just shading and shading, circling the answer. Luckily ZY help me with some of the content. Thank you very much for adding this course and helping me! After yesterday’s accounting paper which was ok to me because I did my solutions, don’t care right or wrong, at least something I can hand in. I was quite tired when I reach home. Didn’t have the energy to study for Defence Science stuff. So I woke up today just to start to study the content. Well, nothing goes into my brain. If not for him, I wouldn’t have known some of the questions. Like the C D E F1 F2 and those easy easy stuff like errr… let me think… biological sensors whatever? Haha… I may be failing that paper and retake it with my friends next year! I really hope I can pass. Not as easy as I thought! Haha… time to concentrate on my cores! As I have said before, this week is warm up week because those two subjects I took are not graded.

Luckily, my sense of motivation comes back again! YAY!

I just cleared my def sci notes. And I happen to bounce on this:

Nutritional Composition
Carbohydrate: 60 - 65 %
Protein: 10 - 15%
Fat: 20 - 25 %

Sooo happy. I change the answer after I chosen the wrong one. But it seems weird to me at first because the protein percentage is lower than the fat percentage. However, I remember that the nutritional composition only has this three things instead of fibre (in grams). Haha... well, I browse through the notes, saw quite a number of wrong answers. But well, those wrong answers are not included in my "50 confident" answers.

To Miss Stupid:
Face up to reality please. Your exams are near. Your results are more important than anything else right now. Some things can wait. Some things can't wait. If you miss the most precious time, time will not turn back and let you redo everything again. Thank you Ant for just giving me a bite on my elbow and wake me up. Please wash away all redundancies in your mind right NOW!

Last day seems like first day!

Time flies. It’s the last day of Sem 2 already, which means in 2 months time. I have successfully finished a year of my Uni course. It seems as though the first day was just yesterday. I didn’t get to enjoy some moments with my friends, the pleasure of listening to lectures wholeheartedly, the time when I put in my heart and effort to take down everything that teacher mentioned as they were going through tutorials that I have finished every question like last sem. I enjoyed every minute in sem 1 though I have night lessons two of the days. But there are friends around me accompanying me, showing their great care and concern to me. I feel loved. But not as if this sem they didn’t, but people have their own lives, me too. Last sem, I enjoyed going to BS classes, eating dinner with friends. I enjoyed going to tourism lecture, feel very relaxed when learning. Of course, there is somebody who accompanies me home every Thursday. Was looking forward to Wednesday and Thursday last time. Friday too, when I can have lunch with my friends and going home back together. This sem, I entered class most of the time without competing tutorials. So not like me. I dislike the feeling of waking up early for lectures. Dislike the feeling of pretending you have no problems but you have a lot of problems in your mind to deal with. Dislike the feeling of not having time to spend with my friends eating lunch or so on because of my back to back lessons. But now, everything has ended. Looking forward to a brand new beginning in year 2. A new life. A new environment to deal. Who knows, I may say bye bye to MAS already.

In conclusion, Sem 2 wasn’t smooth as I want it to be. Nevertheless, I am grateful to everybody who accompany me through the studying journey.

Today was a neutral day, not happy and not sad. MAS 114 lecture was boring as usual. Due to the down server of the SPMS printing room, there are no notes printed. Though I can say I understand everything during lecture, there’s nothing much for me to learn new things. Also, nobody to talk to me. HW 111A, the day… when people finished the course, and our group needs to wait till the last day for our presentation to be done. The presentation went smoothly, but as usual, I got most of the negative comments as compared to my other group mates. Hopefully I can pass. Well, I’m a lousy presenter, but well, I think I won’t ever get to present again. I hope. Perhaps if I take thesis and also in future if I get into NIE doing practical training. Had lunch with a friend, haha, thankfully got her around. We explored the MAS division because lesson ended early today before our 214 tutorial. I wanted to collect my quiz script but Prof Chan was not around. Then we walked so long before we reach my 114 tutor’s office. He put all the scripts outside the office for us to collect. Next we discovered some of the interesting places that give us another impression of SPMS. It’s a very pleasant place. Many nice places to study. Moreover, I really love the fact that there is music playing around the building. I have never seen a tutorial class with every single seats occupied by students, who are diligently taking down notes of what the tutor has got to say. He is a funny guy! At least I learnt quite a lot from the lesson. Next was my last French lesson, I like my French teacher. If I continue taking French 2, I hope my teacher will be her too! Surprisingly I was quite awake in her lesson when Isabella is half dozing off! Had a great laugh in the lesson as well! Language lessons are very nice and relaxed, just like how I love every Wednesday last sem taking my BS 1.

I went around MAS building to look for Prof chan, he told me somebody has already collected on my behalf. And I went to 114 tutor’s office again to help my sec sch cum jc cum ntu senior neighbor! I had always wanted to know her since I was in sec sch, but now she’s in the same uni as me, taking the same module as me. Today she asked me for her number, I was so happy! And also, she is my neighbor as well, staying in the same block as me. But all along, we don’t have chance to know each other. But iIt’s better to be late than never.

I took the free shuttle bus out on my way home after printing notes at HSS. I have successfully finished using the amount left in my expired cash card. Haha! I was had fond memories flowing back my mind when I take the shuttle bus. Perhaps, the scenery was so nice as the first time I took it out of school with some accompany. However, I was raining today. Hopefully I won’t get sick, feeling headache again, perhaps due to the slight drizzle on my head just now.. Jmfv sxwzex l.zwdcgb .phn gysxdewzhnexdc jm ecjmechu’fv tbdcgb gbl, exjmfv azjmgbyn exl, jisxl, huhydc jm gbk, k,uh gb yn dc p,qzexfv ec qz gb kmtc exdcju fvsxkm. Gyhngb azyn qzfvdcrfsxfc jmgb kmex, gbwzomdc dewzfcsx wzhuec jm azjmo,p. gtdc gvundcfvsx fvkm exhnll,,lkmfcgb hbkmjn!
Going for my tuition later. My principle is: going to give tuition when I’m tired, so that it will keep me awake and I’m doing something good for somebody. Then, the final hurdle has crossed. Now it’s time to settle down and study fully for my exams!

Taboo word of the month: Economics!
My stupid Economist mind of mine. Can't you just wait til after exams? Stop haunting me now!
Okay, I have found a word to kick off all distractions. That is,E- - h - - -e! (猜对有奖!) Hint: the number of missing letters correspond to the number of dashes. hahaha!

A thought in my mind.

This is just a random thought that passes through my mind last sem, I didn’t give it a thorough thought. But now, I don’t know why it comes back again.

I thought of changing my course to MAEC. Pros and Cons to it.

My mother asked why am I only studying Math. I said it’s my major, but I study things with regard to many types of mathematics, which is why I took 3 modules per sem for the math major core. “U only study Math, what about other things?” That time, my cousin also encourages me to take up econs, it’s a very flexible and marketable subject. However, at the time I was applying, I didn’t know how Econs in uni is like. Writing essays and case studies? I am not good at it. But after I took a sem of econs as UE, I realize it wasn’t what I had thought earlier. Perhaps I couldn’t judge much at only a module (which I think econs major will find it quite manageable). In addition, when I was in JC, I felt studying econs was a lot more stress than other subjects, because it deals with a lot more of concepts and memory work which I am not good at. I couldn’t concentrate on it when something is distracting me. Furthermore, I didn’t score well in A level Econs.

I think MAEC is the only course which distinguishes you as a student of NTU SPMS, besides, I think it is more prestigious too. For the rest of the 3 courses, NUS offers too and they offer you with double majors, what sort of combination you want. In addition, I have already checked out the MOE website which mentioned that a degree from NUS stats can allow you to teach in Sec sch, no longer what I have read last year. However, in the MAEC part, the possible teaching subject is only math but not econs. Although I have already wanted my path to be teaching, a degree in MAEC will be more marketable than with only a single major right? At least with a math and econs, I can still venture into society with an econs background. I really think econs is a very useful subject, but the concepts are too much for me. Hai, I fear this and that, then there are not much choices for me already. I will never accomplish anything if I don’t step out of my comfort zone. I find that I am only touching on Math, Math, Math .. although there are minors and electives. There is still not much variation still, being a single major degree, rather than a combined degree which touches on both elements. I find that I am studying without any aim but to score well in exams. But still, it has its limitations as compared to a double major as well. My plan is doing a single major and double minor, but if I am an MAEC student, I will be doing combined degree and single minor (what will be my 2nd teaching subject then?) Does double minor sound quite useless? Or should I just go and take second major, then I must while change course to math and econs. Anyway, zy mentioned to me that MAEC is a competitive course, on one hand fighting with econs major, on the other hand fighting with math majors like us... Well, I think I’m crazy and too ambitious. Econs is a nice subject, I like it. But, to me, it’s just 吃力不讨好。

I have counted my Aus. Actually, math majors like me can finish their cores in 2 years. But there are certain levels we can’t possibly clear everything at one go. So we actually spend another 2 years clearing other electives. Is having 45 Aus of UEs a good or bad thing? Some would rather devote their time to core instead; some would like more electives to choose from (aimlessly). Actually, 45 Aus are enough to take a second major, with some overloading of Aus. Ok, I am ambitious again. Is having a higher GPA good? Or the content that you are studying is important?

Perhaps if I really change course, I may not adapt to the change of environment. Though there is a possibility that a MAS student can change course. Who knows? I may drop back again.

Am I really really going to step out of my comfort zone? I have already gone this far, should I just give up my thought? I hope I won’t regret. At least I am still doing a minor (hopefully I can use this to earn my second teaching subject)

Roller Coaster

I don’t know why I can’t sleep well last night, waking up with very tired eyes and slight headache. My mind still wondering in my dreams. My dreams again… hai… Please don’t let me dream! I couldn’t really concentrate on memorizing those formulas, but ya, they won’t come out in quiz either.

I took a slow 174 bus to interchange, forgetting to tap my card because I won’t be using concession for now, less than 20 days left in school. So forgetful me! I forgot to tap my card as I got down at innovation centre, and second thing, I forgot to bring my handphone out today! I took a 179 Rollar Coaster to school. The bus was really going at a speed of roller coaster. It zoomed past the stretch before Pioneer MRT and it didn’t stop at the station, suddenly I feel the bus moving so fast and slope down and down, with the feeling of taking roller coaster. The bus didn’t brake before making a turn anyway. Kind of dangerous but nice feeling! How I wish all buses are like this! I love taking roller coaster rides. 很痛快的感觉。。。

I thought I understand polar curves, but well, my mind wasn’t in the correct mode. Lack of enough rest, though, I’m still feeling headache now. Am I very competitive and stress to be with?

Haha! Just for some laugh or to cheer you up before the start of the mugging season. Thanks MJ for sharing this with me and accompany me to eat lunch. (I sound like I’m very 可怜like that, always got nobody to accompany me for lunch. )

I went for defense science lecture, say for 30 minutes only? The prof was so funny, he uses transparency to teach, just like what our linear algebra prof mentioned before that they use transparency to teach last time, and now this prof really uses transparency! When he wants to talk to the class, he took off his sunglasses. When he wants to write on the OHP transparency which is very glaring due to the light, he wore his sunglasses. And so he speaks, on and off, he took on and off his sunglasses a lot of times, which is very funny. He asks, “how long can u tolerate listening to a lecture?” Well, everybody just discuss among themselves and nobody dared to reply. He just said, “Why not I give you a ten minutes break? Maybe you can tolerate, but I cannot tolerate.” HAHAHAHA! And also, he is a Chinese prof, he said, “I may not speak well as you all, my accent perhaps cannot be heard clearly…….. BUT, I have good English,” The whole LT went laughing and clapping. Haha, well, he can speak soft, then suddenly for a particular word very loudly. Quite shocking to ears sometimes, but well I had a great laugh. “Simulate is made up of two parts, ‘Simul’ and ‘ate’ “. Duh… but ya, it’s true! Simul means same, ate means to make. So simulate is to make something similar out of another thing.

I studied at the library today, and heard many great songs today! On my way back, I happen to see my CCA peeps and they are hanging a big banner on the walls of LWM Library. The banner was super professional and nice! Must go and see!

Good luck for my last calculus quiz tomorrow!

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Oh my goodness! I seriously cannot believe my eyes as I stepped out of school waiting for 179A bus back home... Why do these people exist in NTU?

Monday, April 5, 2010

Do you miss last sem's MAS 110 lecturer?
If yes, then go listen to 114 E lecture!

HAHAHAHA! I was quite amused when I open the ppt slides and heard his voice instead of the current prof's voice.

Saturday, April 3, 2010

Ok. I have made up my confusing mind of mine to SU Accounting.
Hopefully I make the correct choice.

Now I have just found out how to sketch polar curves using GC!
OOoooo.....OO

Ruler, will you stop dropping? You have injured the Nth number of times today already...

Full!

I am so full today. Had two gatherings today on this public holiday. I spent all my earnings yesterday.

First was polar bears outing, only 5 bears attended. And we celebrated KP's birthday at Sizzler. I couldn't finish my share when I only ate one plate of salad (there was free flow of salad), half a bowl of soup and a bread, one main course, 3/4 of ice lemon tea, one piece of cake. I couldn't even finish my french fries. Aiyo, I can't imagine eating steamboat in the evening.

I went SMU to study for awhile before I headed to class outing. The area was so dark and nobody bothered to on the lights. One waiting for each other to on. But, I slept for awhile there. After that I continued to study accounting again.

KP lead me the way to bugis mrt station. Sounds funny right? A non-local staying in Singapore for around 4 years? Leading and navigating a local around local places.

The guys are very good. They didn't wait for the girls before going to steamboat place. But anyway, it was fun talking to them, laughing at and with them. But one thing sad is, one of them took up smoking, kind of an obstacle to his bright future. I didn't know I could eat quite an amount of steamboat stuff today, when I am complaining I am super full. I ate too much unhealthy stuff today, well at least salads today are healthy. I drank a spoon of chao ta tom yam soup without knowing. Please, don't let me fall sick at this crucial point of time. My throat is getting heaty. Luckily Mum made liang teh. Once again, I repeat, NO! My throat cannot get heaty. Because it will mean that all other symptoms will follow.

Back to life again, the 5 things I need to do. Eat. Sleep. Toilet. Study. Tuition. And, blogging isn't one of them!

elearning week comes and goes. I had fun this week, enjoying my time together with people fun. More importantly, I could get enough rest as well, no need to wake up early in the morning to go for lectures. I just love the feeling of getting up without the alarm clock waking you up, having breakfast with my mum, studying a little at home before leaving house for lessons.

Well, what is stopping me from making my decision?

April Fools!

Happy April Fool’s Day!

Today’s Calculus lesson was sad. Only 5 students came for my tutor’s class, what I heard from the tutor was there was only 1 student next door. I was the only girl inside the room. Is it because of E learning or April Fools that people miss this lesson? Haha… I was quite scared, didn’t like the feeling of studying with so little people, but after that it was still ok because I had a company! The guy with orange bag! I guess I learn quite a lot today.

On my way to lesson, I met Dr Tan when she was on the way out of school. She remembers me! Well, I better not do anything wrong! HAHA!

I went over to LWN library to study for accounting; I planned to study for it this week before I could decide to SU or not this coming Sunday. On my way there, I decided to walk past Tan Chin Tuan LT instead, and saw quite a crowd there. I was thinking, oh, it’s the SU exam welfare package. The queue was so long and some of them were holding umbrellas under the sun. Just for some free coffee and free subway cookies? Wow, so enthusiastic. I have never gotten some goody bag from NTUSU. The queue was from TCT to the centre of IT services, which was quite near LWM. Imagine there were two rows of people crowding, not in single file. I headed straight to the library then.

Yes I know I’m suaku, I didn’t know that the computer tables have table lights! The lighting was good. Just nice for me. Maybe that’s my second place where I can study with computers. But I dislike sitting with some groups of people who will talk non-stop. It poured suddenly. Making me feel cold.

Accounting lecture was a story telling time. I guess I have a lot of concepts to catch up, be it under MCQs or those structured questions.

Looking forward to TMR! Happy Good Friday!
