Am i very approachable?

Well… I haven’t been blogging for a while. But I will still update the blog to keep it alive!
Haha. What spurs me on this topic on approachable or not? At times, people may have the impression of me being very cold and dao. But for some, people say I am friendly. Let me share with you! Yes, you are reading my blog right? Haha. Great it’s you! … about my encounters these few days.

Initially, I was being OK OK with those salesman, promoter, people giving out flyers along the entrance and exit between the JP interchange and Boon Lay MRT station. I will give a smile when I want to reject something, or say “Sorry. I am not interested.” But now, I have been becoming increasingly disturbed by such situations. They will just tap on to any Tom, Dick or Harry and blabbered on. Almost everyday, there will be people around doing this kind of job. And I was the Tom, Dick or Harry being approached. As I have mentioned, last time, I will give them a smile. But now, I will just be a typical Singaporean, pretend I never hear anything and walk away. Sometimes, I really disliked walking between the interchange and 179 berth. And also, will the MIO TV booth please disappear? It gets very irritating during peak hours when people are rushing for work or rushing home. A whole bunch of uncles stood there watching some football matches, blocking the main road. I will just walk past the TV on purpose, block all of the view. I don’t care. I’m very bad right? Everyday this happens to me you know?

Haha. Let me get on to the topic. On Wednesday, I was quite early for my tuition in Bukit Panjang. So to delay some time, I walk by the long path along the road instead of walking through the HBD flats to her condo. Then, I was fascinated about some big black bird biting on some tissue and flying up the branch. Initially, I thought, it was an eagle? Haha. Silly me. Why will an eagle appear at such places. I took a closer look, it was a big black crow! AH AH AH. Ok I’m lame. Then suddenly I heard someone calling: “Da jie! Da jie!” I thought the person is not calling me. But I found out that I was the only person walking along the path. So who else instead of me? And I wasn’t used to the name too because never in my life people call me Da Jie! Of course, I am small, cute and young! (wahahahaha) Anyway, he was a PRC guy looking for the directions, asking me how to go to Sembawang. Of course, I don’t know the roads quite well. But I still managed to give a reply in mandarin. “Sorry, I don’t live here. But I think you can go to the kuai su gong lu to Woodlands and then from there you can go to 3 ba wang” And I repeated it for quite awhile because he keep asking me the same thing over and over again. I guess he was a newcomer working in Singapore for awhile, wanting to deliver goods to the place but don’t know how. This reminds me when I went for the China trip with my JC. My coach captain doesn’t speak a lot. But suddenly one time when he was driving, everyone else was silent, he opened the window and shouted quite loudly when he was waiting for the traffic light to turn green or something, in the middle of the road: “Hey LAO XIONG! LAO XIONG!” To another uncle who was crossing the road in the middle of nowhere I don’t know why. “Ni zhi dao _____ gai wang na li zou ma?” And Chinese speak loudly, the conversation continued and it ended with, “Hao xie la lao xiong!” Haha. Me and NgLi were like, WOW!, first time hear him talk. So cute! That’s how they communicate. Females they call them DA JIE, regardless of age. For males, it’s LAO XIONG! Interressant ya?

On Thursday, after I had my BIG breakfast with my dearest MUMMY! I headed to the busstop for school. Similarly, I was the one walking on the path again! Then an old lady was walking towards me, and she suddenly paused and said two words to me, “Jin Zhua!” It means so hot in Hokkien. HAHA. Out of no reason, but I smiled and nodded my head to her. She continued walking slowly, and I continued walking briskly because every time my bus will come in the middle of nowhere suddenly that I always need to run for my bus, to go to school and attend a 2% quiz (which will take me 2 hours to and fro, but it was worth it! Haha, I tell you why!)

After I reached the interchange, similarly, I will walk very fast to show my sense of urgency to other people who will take me for their any Tom, Dick or Harry so as to avoid their time. But… Hai, why I so suay? I was the only one coming from the MRT interchange walking towards the 179 berth. An uncle tried to stop me and he pointed to the ez link machine. I thought something wrong with the machine or he doesn’t know how to read English maybe I could help him a little. But later did I know, he wanted to go to Choa Chu Kang, his card has not enough money, and he has a few coins with him. Oh, then in this case, sorry I couldn’t help much. And he was speaking to me in some dialect I couldn’t decode, if it’s lending money. I shall be heartless here. Sorry, I need to rush and bye!

Aiyo… why people always approach me? HAHA! Is it a good or bad thing?

I can tell you, out of 10 reporters or journalists I saw outside for some event or something. 9 of them will definitely approach me and ask questions. It depends on what topic is being discussed here la. But slowly, I’m getting frustrated out of it when I am neutral or willing to help in the past. Well, I hope I am not venting out my frustrations over here. But I guess this is an interesting topic to ponder about? What are your experiences?

Just now I am being SIAO! Out of nothing, I saw the Calculus quiz solutions being uploaded. And I jump so high in front of my mother like crazy! Never in my life I jumped so high. Hmm, actually got lah, when I receive the call for my A levels results. Although I have not gotten back my results. My solutions were correct! I pray hard that the prof will not penalize me for circling in pencil. So I have said, the 2 hours of journey was quite worth it ya?

Bon week-end!
