Wrong Way

I guess I am a lousy route marshal because I actually led the wrong way. It was miscommunication I guess, I told the runners to run up the escalator but they went the other straight road instead. I guess the straight path looks more appealing to run on. The runners were kind of pissed off when they ran back again and took the correct path. The coordinator knew about it, but fortunately he wasn’t angry with me and showed me the correct way. (And it was another guy who told me to stand there and direct them, but his method doesn’t work). Never mind, it’s over, it’s another stepping stone or obstacle that I have encountered.

Anyway, I was so surprised to be awake at such hour when I told myself Sunday afternoon is for me to rest and sleep. Saturday was just a period that happened just now. It was a long day. First I had a make-up lecture in the morning before I head to Woodlands for tuition. I sat a long bus ride there till I actually miss my stop, trying to catch up sleep for tonight’s event. My butt hurts sitting in the bus for too long. Today was actually Mun Ling’s turn to teach my tutee, so I can get somehow some time for me to do my homework while I tend to KP’s tutee. MH’s tutee was super cute! Anyway, I had a long bus ride home when the bus was caught in a traffic jam. I quickly finish my dinner and some homework before I catch some sleep again. Then, I met RuiYun in the bus when we headed down to City Hall to meet the rest of the people. Poor me and RY ran a big round trying to find the Raffles Shopping Mall Mac. Then we decided to go toilet, and again, the security guard locked the gate up to the escalator before we finished our business. And hai, we have to walk another big round to get out of the shopping mall by getting thru the entrance of the hotel. I tried to finish some of my accounting questions while the rest are learning signing and playing games.

At 3am, we headed down to the volunteers’ meeting area to get things done. The leader was super funny the way he talked. And one of us tried to imitate him, in the end we laughed like mad. Laughing is contagious. We just kept laughing and laughing. Super high in the wee hours. After that, I was deployed to the Esplanade breakdance area, with Qin Ling. It’s like an indoor place there where some “homeless” people sleep, I also took a nap there, since it’s quite cooling and comfortable. I am so much awake after the few minutes of nap. Which is why I am still awake now! The race starts around 7am. Some runners are really enthusiastic. But with a lousy route marshal like me who will give misleading directions, and pull a long black face, hoping that the event would finally end so I can go home and rest. Happily I thought since our sector is A1, after the runners ran pass our area, our job is done! But ya, the route was a loop, so our sector become the last sector to end. So irritating, always encounter this problem. Stand chart also like that, stand down the latest. But after that, we joined the rest of them to cheer for the runners. It was very fun and interesting doing that together with friends instead of zi-highing.

Poor twenty dollars, it was just a touch-and-go. Everybody was hungry and headed on to have rice for brunch instead. And then me and RY decided to sleep on the bus, taking advantages of seats in the bus and slept all the way despite the journey too long. I was not so sleepy but now, right now when I’m blogging! I am going to doze off already. I thought I won’t need any sleep!

I have to finish my homework and catch up with accounting! And someone just “touched” my Sunday. NO!!!
