heart pain arh!

Everything went fine today in my first day of job except for one thing.

I am very scared I couldn't board the bus or miss the company bus because I know there are alot of other buses picking up people. And yet today I saw the company bus plate number. I went up the bus asking if it is going to Toll. This AT driver said sembawang, so I really thought it's going to SEMBAWANG. And then I hestitated awhile and got down the bus. And I regreted. Seriously, it's the correct plate number and I should have got up instead. But, this AT driver obviously ... hai. The previous of name my company was sembawang kimtrans. Obviously he still living in his own world, outdated. But aiya. Blame it on my stupidity. Next time ask the passengers instead of the driver. In the end I spend 10 bucks on taxi there. So not worth it. But never mind, what to do? Better be a little bit late then just standing there. I met a good taxi driver. All because I jumped queue. Oops.. haha. Hope no one notices it. Else, I will be late for work.

Second time I was blur is ... I didn't even notice I was at the wrong level. I went to the second floor instead. Hai... then I saw my HR supervisor and she showed me around. The company office was quite nice. Though the outer appearance looks just like any other Jurong Island company. I like the ship steering wheel outside the office. I was issued a pass, and got my fingerprint accessed. This is for the time to clock in and out. Then I was introduced to some of the colleagues and manager, to start of my work. Actually, there wasn't a direct supervisor for me la. I am just there to assist anybody if anyone needs help. Since I was there the first day, rushing from JE to company, they allow me to eat my bread before I actually start. But they are very cute because they asked me to wait and here and there most of the time. I guessed I still feel at ease because each time I know exactly what I was supposed to do, that includes waiting.

My first task was to sort out the tax invoices by number. A big stack of them. Then the second task is to file up all the invoices accordingly. I had to search the files here and there. Squatting most of the time to slot in one or two small little invoices. Carrying heavy files up and down the cupboard. Somehow my back hurts. =( But it's ok. I should do the job well. It took me the whole morning to finish sorting and filing halfway. Then it's lunch time, I went down alone to the canteen. Wondering what to eat. I settled with Malay stall then. I was kind of afraid because I had no one to sit with. Luckily I saw the lady whom I was helping her with the stuff, and another colleague. She waved to me and ask me to sit with her. I heaved a sigh of relief then. I am quite afraid of new environment with new people whom I don't know. Very sad to eat alone de. HAHA... Then we chatted with the colleagues and I found out that they are quite humorous! As we chatted on Mathematics since they asked about my major. This guy seems to know quite abit of his stuff. It was better than I had expected for a first day of work at lunch!

I wanted to continue on filing but this lady, Hui Shan, asked me to rest awhile since it was not even 1 pm yet! So I rested awhile before continuing on my filing. Finally, I finished all and then my third task was to sort and sieved out two different piles of job orders. This remind me of accounting that I learnt about job order. Those ready to be billed and not ready to be billed. Well, sometimes I find that when I'm shy or new to environment, I am very soft spoken. HAHA... It took me the afternoon to do two sets of them. Very thick piles of invoices. I am blurred with all numbers halfway doing those stuff. Then in the next second I have to rest and start looking at job numbers again. I admire those accountants who have to see numbers everyday. Then I did all of them and my fourth task was to do stamping of the documents til we can knock off for work. I already did very slow le but she still thinks I do very fast. Because that is my last job of the day!

Then those colleagues talked to me about where I stay and the bus. So the lady sitting diagonally behind me saw me asking the AT driver and get down the bus. So it was me! Haha.. I better look out for her tomorrow morning. I am afraid again. Haven't really get used to taking company buses. I hope I can see some familiar faces tomorrow and better don't let history repeat again.

Good luck for tomorrow! Tomorrow I have to shift many files! So HS asked me to wear pants. HAHA! Hope tmr will be a better day.
