Mania Panas!

The weather is suuuppppeeeerr hot both in Malaysia and Singapore. Well at least, in Singapore, there are many aircons around. So at least it will keep me cooler. Well, I just came back from Malaysia, it’s a pleasant trip though I spent most of the days sleeping, eating and disturbing my father to play with me. Sound so childish? Well, anyway, I miss my laptop too! And many stuff left undone. These 6 days are reserved for me to be away from the busy world and take a step back to appreciate and enjoy life in a slower extent. Now that I’m back, I have to deal with all and everything coming in to me.

Day 1
Spent around 6 hours before reaching my grandmother’s place. The first thing we do was to dabao few packets of 干捞面. The noodles there are super nice. Just throw a stone to any stall, they will give you cheap and nice noodles! Well, that’s my personal opinion. By the time we reached, it was around night time. Sleep again.

Day 2
Wake up early in the morning to catch my breakfast at the wet market. It was a different eye opening as compared to our wet market. Theirs is more of market along the road side, going back to the 70s and 80s. After that, the whole morning also do nothing, sleep sleep sleep. Actually can find things to do. Just that I’m quite lazy. Haha, no shows to watch too. Our relatives came and with the bla bla noises going on. Walked out for a dinner. It was labour day too and almost all restaurants are packed. While waiting for food to come, some family put fireworks on the sky. Directly in front of my eyes. How nice! How nice to see fireworks occasionally in Singapore by surprise. Oh, and I played cards and mahjong with my parents, aunts and uncles. At first I kept losing when playing cards. But I had a turnover at mahjong. Fun game! I love mahjong!

Day 3
Both my aunties are leaving. A short stay for them. And my KL relatives are leaving for work and school too. My uncle walked grandma out with me and my dad around the estate. Greeted some locals there and I was surprised to see an Indian lady knowing how to speak really fluent mandarin with the local accent. No such Indian accent or what. Haha. And my father went in to some uncompleted villas and up the balcony. I was quite shocked. Can anyhow go in wan meh? My uncle said, can! You can go in anytime you like. So we went in and explore the foundation. Quite nice and big, close to nature, well people who live here are generally close to nature. That’s one thing I liked about. How I wished my family has a villa here. But, transport here is no good. No public buses. There are only two forms of transport to rely on. Car and bus 11. For dinner, we walked out to a street stall to eat char kuay teow, chao mee fen all those. A pleasant place. I prefer to eat what the people there eat by the roadsides, on the streets. To get a taste of how the locals live there. Though the food was kind of salty. Some may think that having meals by the roadsides are unhygienic. But well, I had no stomachache.

Day 4
Interesting day. My uncle and his friends brought me and my dad to a nearby small mountain/hill/ terrain or whatever you call it. For a climb and have a look at the whole area we are staying. It was a private land but the man there allow us to go for a morning climb. It was an eye opening session for me as I thought mountains often have walkways and paths for us to climb. But there are no pavements, you will just climb up the sands or rocks wherever you see those. I had difficulty going down because I can slip anytime with my shoes. And have no such experience before. My uncle had to painstakingly teach me how to climb the mountain. But well, thankfully they waited for me! I had a great sense of satisfaction after completing the journey. It wasn’t easy to climb though. The photos are still with my uncle. Will upload it when I get it.

Day 5
My father woke me up for breakfast as though he was purring a cat to wake up. Haha, poor thing! I went back to sleep for awhile before he came purring me again and said to dabao for me. I said, aiya I just go la. But he walked so fast that I spent all my journey catching up with him.
Finally time to go out and get my hair cut! What a hot summer! However, of all those days with scorching hot sun, it rained today while we are out. My hair is pretty short now. And the salon is the only place I went with aircon. Very comfortable when they do my hair and wash it for me. I enjoy the water running on my hair. Next we went to do some shopping at the so call shopping centre, and a friend’s shoe shop. Bought two pairs of slippers and a pair of sandals. Both for me and my mum. Then we went over to a shop and my mum bought some things needed to make jelly, while I bought a lot a lot of beads! It was raining heavily and we couldn’t walk out any further so I had the luxury to choose those beads. Sat in the shop and my mum chatted with the store aunty. Later we found out that she’s the sister of our previous neighbor. Tampin is just so small, everyone is related to each other by some relations. Next we went to eat at another shelter hawker centre. There are two cats running around. There was this cat which seems to know how to respond. I took out my phone and took a photo with the cat looking up in my phone. My mum thinks I’m crazy but after that she says the photo is nice! Haha!

Got a ride from the salon auntie home in her car. And we dabao another few packets of干捞面 again. I just love the干捞面 there. How I wish I can have all my meals in Malaysia. Well, I didn’t get hungry at all there. I enjoyed every meal with many nice good food cooked for us to eat.

Day 6
My trip ended. And had to go back. Counted mozzie bites again. These time it wasn't alot but mozzies always bite on the same place. My parents' bites are worse. Like some horoscope star tessellation you see on the sky. Oh the skies there are very starry. My father's bites are as though he has chicken pox. Pondered about quite a number of stuffs but I let go of them since I chose to enjoy the trip. I guess I am fully recharged to deal with new surprises in Singapore. My train reached early and the whole journey was fast. But, when I reached the custom, I went to the fingerprint access area to clear my entrance. But the machine somehow has problem and couldn’t read my fingerprint. So frustrated, so sorry to those waiting behind. The first time I tried I didn’t have any problems when I left for Malaysia. Til I spent a lot of time doing the clearance, after that the custom officer asked me to try for two times and gave up. He keyed in manually and let me go. Frustrated! I don’t want to go to the second lane already. My parents were waiting for me.
